Working Groups

Working Groups are spaces to collaborate and share ideas with a global network of humanitarian open mapping community leaders, contributors, and promoters.

Activation


This group is tasked with developing and/or proposing procedures, monitoring, tools, and/or other recommendations for management of HOT’s disaster mapping program. Contact at activation@hotosm.org.

Community


This group works to improve the global HOT community through targeted actions. An improved community is one which works together better, and which fosters and supports the growth of local groups around the world. Contact at community@hotosm.org.

Governance


This group is charged with governance aspects of HOT, on how the organization should be structured and work together to define the legal bases. Contact at governance@hotosm.org.

Tech and Innovation


The HOT Tech and Innovation Working Group is a welcoming and inclusive open space to connect, contribute, collaborate, innovate and share ideas for geospatial tech for humanitarian purposes! Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00 and 18:00UTC!

Additionally, we have the HOT Tasking Manager Collective Meet Ups on second Wednesday of the month : 9:00 UTC or 15:00 UTC. Register here.

Training


Much of what HOT does involves training others how to contribute to and use OpenStreetMap. The training group organizes and consolidates training materials and helps direct development for the identified audiences. Contact at training@hotosm.org.

Quality Control and Assurance


The data quality working group is organized to investigate tools and workflows to improve data quality and mapper experience, in order to develop and recommend solutions to related validation challenges. Contact via the Slack #quality-control channel or via email dataquality@hotosm.org.
